Through regular informal meetings,
this is an opportunity for Deaf professionals and/or your employees
who are Deaf professionals to build relationships, address pertinent
issues, and achieve professional growth through communication. |
|
In 2002, the Hearing, Speech & Deafness
Center (HSDC) formed a focus group of nonprofit agencies who serve
the same or similar populations: Deaf, hard of hearing, Deaf-blind
and speech challenged. The goal was to create cohesion between
agencies and a vehicle for sharing of best practices and
information. |

Deaf Services incorporates an involvement
in community groups and contact with other organization and service
providers. This includes presentations and orientations to other health
and human services organizations, businesses, and schools. These presentations
include information about our programs and the issues we address such
as Deaf Awareness, Deaf Culture, TTY trainings, and American Sign Language
(ASL) Classes. |
