Now people who are seeking ways to reduce their
accent and improve their English communication skills can participate
in a accent
reduction program at the Hearing, Speech & Deafness Center, located
in Seattle’s Capitol Hill area.
The Hearing, Speech & Deafness Center offers both group and private
courses in modification of accent. Both courses include an
initial phonetic analysis of speech patterns followed by weekly training
sessions. Participants learn pronunciation patterns based on their
individual accent and native language. Upon completion of the thirteen-week
course, participants experience at least a 50% improvement in their
English pronunciation.
