Seattle’s Hearing, Speech & Deafness Center
is one of the first clinics in the United States to be certified to
fit the breakthrough hearing aid known as the Oticon Syncro. An entirely
new breed of hearing aid, Oticon Syncro uses artificial intelligence
to mimic the way the brain processes sound. Making as many as 17,000
intelligent calculations and adjustments per second, Oticon Syncro
significantly improves speech understanding in difficult sound environments
such as busy streets, offices, or crowded restaurants.
Chris Borders MA-CCC-A, Director of Audiology at the Hearing, Speech & Deafness
Center, joined 300 leading hearing care professionals at a national
technology conference to learn how to use Syncro’s multi-media
interactive software to ensure her clients receive the maximum benefit
of the hearing aid’s advanced technology. “With Oticon
Syncro, I am better able to help my clients hear more of what they
want to hear and less of what they don’t,” stated Ms.
Borders.
Like the human brain, Syncro can detect whether it is hearing a
human voice or just noise. It can also determine from which direction
a sound is coming, how loud a sound is and even whether or not the
wind is blowing. The Oticon Syncro then analyzes all of these incoming
signals, selects desirable sounds such as voice or music and at the
same time works to suppress annoying noises.
“Just as we know that every hearing loss is as unique as a
fingerprint, we know that each patient has a unique sense of lifestyle
needs and desires when it comes to getting the most from their hearing
aid,” explained Borders. “Whether their priority is enjoying
a round of golf with friends, going to business meetings or taking
part in church activities, Syncro allows clients to fully participate
in selecting a fit that is perfect for them.”
The Oticon Syncro is available in a full range of cosmetically attractive,
small styles. For more information, please us contact at:
