If your hearing aid needs repair, we offer a
number of options to fit your schedule. Ideally, hearing aid servicing
and repairs should be handled by appointment. If your hearing aid
needs repair, please contact the Hearing, Speech & Deafness Center
to make an appointment. By making an appointment, we can provide
you with better service and reduce your waiting time. We also offer
a drop-in repair service from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Thursdays. You
can bring your aid(s) in for repair at this time. However, you may
have to wait an extended period of time. All in-house services are
available free of charge during the warranty periods.
Hearing aids that require more than minor repairs will be sent to the
manufacturer and a $100.00 minimum charge will be assessed if the aid
is out of warranty. Recasing a hearing aid costs more than a regular
repair and an estimate can be provided at the time it is mailed to the
manufacturer. Most repairs are accomplished within three weeks and carry
a six month manufacturer repair warranty. If you wish to purchase a twelve-month
manufacturer repair warranty, a $135.00 minimum charge will be assessed.
When an aid is returned from repair, you are notified and a
hearing aid pick-up appointment is made. The appointment is recommended
in order to insure that the hearing aid is adjusted properly and that
you are satisfied with the repair.
