Apraxia
Apraxia is a motor planning problem which affects the ability to formulate the sounds of speech.

The following suggestions may be helpful in communicating with a person who suffers from apraxia:
  • Ask the person to slow down and say each word carefully
  • Avoid interrupting the person
  • Encourage the use of gestures
  • Encourage any vocalization such as singing familiar songs
