Information & Referral |
|
|
Our community advocacy program works
primarily to address issues that Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing
people encounter when communication is a barrier, often in collaboration
with other agencies. |
|
This service provides information
on many topics of interest to Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-Blind
people. If available, we can provide referrals to other agencies and
organizations
for services
and further information within Washington State.

Video Communication |
|
Outreach |
|
|
Videophones enable communication
between Sign Language users anywhere in the world! They can also be
used for communication between Deaf and hearing people using a Video
Relay Service (VRS) or Video Remote Interpreting (VRI).
HSDC provides free
use of a public videophone anytime during our office hours as well
as training on how to use it. |
|
HSDC's Bellingham advocates work
with social service agencies and local businesses to improve
their ability to better serve you.
They also promote a positive awareness of the Deaf and hard of hearing
communities through education, workshops, and presentations.
HSDC's Bellingham office offers informal Sign Language classes that are open
to everyone! |
