Susie Burdick Bio

Susie Burdick has been a leader in the nonprofit sector for over 35 years. Her work has crossed sub-sectors including the arts and health and human services, and has crossed cultures in the United States and Russia. Susie is currently in leadership roles on a local, regional, and national level.

Susie had a 25 year career in theatre where she worked for theatres in the U.S. and for 12 years with Russian theatres. She also had a consulting firm, Global Arts Network that trained Russian arts organizations in fundraising and marketing following the collapse of communism. She has published two books in Russia on those topics. She then spent 3 years at United Way of King County before coming to HSDC.

In her role as CEO of the Hearing, Speech & Deafness Center, Susie is known as a convener and collaborator, having formed several coalitions and partnerships around service delivery and business operations including the Shared Services Coalition. Her vision, organizational skills and attention to detail combined with her infectious energy and enthusiasm well serve the organizations in which she is involved. “There are three things I have a passion for – seeing and supporting the potential in all people, connecting donors and their passions to create meaningful and lasting change, and supporting the nonprofit sector’s leadership and importance in our communities.” She works towards all three with a positive attitude and a belief that we can change the world.
