HSDC’s annual breakfast event was held on March 20, 2007 and raised money for HSDC’s well renowned Early Childhood Education programs. It was a part of the Center’s Learning and Language Initiative and was the largest breakfast event yet with 250 guests. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about what HSDC is doing to assure that ALL children have equal access to quality Early Learning. The Center is passionate about helping children prepare to be successful in school and in life!

Keynote speaker William H. Gates Sr. (top right), spoke about his personal involvement with and respect for HSDC and how the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is working to improve Early Learning in Washington and around the world. It was an inspirational event including a few words from a former Parent-Infant Program graduate Ariele Belo (right) who returned to HSDC after college and is now in a leadership role at the agency. The real-life demonstration of the success of the children served by the Center moved everyone in attendance.
